Drakesbad is a secluded getaway nestled within the boundaries of Lassen Volcanic National Park. The Park is located in one of the most scenic mountain valleys in Northern California.
Our guests enjoy communing with nature in the fresh mountain air. They spend the days horseback riding, hiking, swimming, fishing or just relaxing. Evening is the perfect time for a good book, fun games, or a quiet conversation around either our outdoor campfire or inside at the lodge fireplace.
Fly to Drakesbad
If you’re a pilot (or know one who owes you a favor) the nearby town of Chester offers an excellent airport for small aircraft. Fly in for a night, or even just for a meal. Interested? Find out more.
Drakesbad is proud to be a designated Trail Angel for hikers along the Pacific Crest Trail. The trail, which stretches from Mexico to Canada and is traveled by thousands of hikers each year, officially kicked off on April 22 near Lake Morena. Hikers come from all over the world and range in age from 8 to 74. Those who stop at Drakesbad are treated to a hot meal, laundry service, and our friendly, smiling faces. It's a welcome stop for dusty clothes and tired muscles. If you've got friends or family tackling the trail this year, be sure to remind them to stop and see us.
